Hey Everyone! So I have a red sea max 260 e-series tank (69 gallons). Bought it a few years ago and finally after a cross country move set it back up about 5 months ago. The only pumps I have for flow is the main recirculation pumps that originally came with the tank (2 x 2150lph or 568 gph). I've been thinking for a while now I need to add a power head or wave pump to the tank to help create some more flow and randomness. My tank is only LPS and znp's. I don't plan to add any SPS to the mix. I've been looking at the red sea wave, vortechs, and nero 5 pumps. Curious to know what others recommendations are between these pumps. Thanks!

I have only used a EcoTech MP 40.
Hated the controller, I found it very dificult to use and program or change the programming
I accidentally dropped the inner pump, not bad just fell maybe 18 inches.
But it did not work after that. Just started to spin off ballance.

I then bought a MaxSpect Gyre 280, really liked that.
Purchased a 300 series for another tank and the magnets are horrible.
I bought the Reeflink and the app is on my phone.
This was a miracle programming tool.

So thats the only input I can give.

This is good to know. I haven’t really looked at the maxspect gyre. I’ll have to look at it. I’m finding a lot of mixed reviews on the MP’s. Some love them and some feel they aren’t worth the cost. I’ve been trying to also work on cord management with this pump. I love not having a cord in the tank but if it’s outside I have a very curious 4 year old that I regularly have to tape magnets to the glass to keep them from playing with it. So a strong magnet is definitely a must. I appreciate your feedback. Thank you!

I would rank what is most important & go from there. Cost? Quiet? Flow-rate? Integration with Controller? Wifi? etc...
