Help me out with stocking; throw some ideas at me!

A couple months back, something very sad happened. I watched all of my stock die in the span of 8 hours, I tried everything, got my water tested at my LFS and they said it was perfect. Still don’t know what happened to my buddies to this day, I miss them so much .

This happened a few months back, and ever since I have been keeping my tank (30g) in check. I keep the water topped off and even change the filter from time to time even though there is nothing in there.

I think it has been enough time that I am emotionally ready to jump back in. Anyone have any ideas for a cool oddball 30g RODI live rock tank??? I’m open to literally anything. Fish, crabs, shrimp, anemone, Anomalocaris, whales, etc.

I’m looking for something very odd and not like impossible to feed. Any suggestions?

If your tank died in 8 hours I would wait 80 days with no fish life in it before I tried to reintroduce fish into a potentially toxic environment. The 80 day fallow time allows known pathogens to starve, people will insist that you only need to wait 72, or 76, or 78 days for fallow to work and I don't remember how many days is recommended by the experts on fish diseases but I know they recommend less than 80 and feel safe in recommending that you wait until that time has passed before you add new fish into your current one.

I'm going to recommend that you get a sea turtle, just because I don't think I have ever seen anyone else recommend one and not to mention that they are probably protected by law, difficult to feed, and probably need a bigger tank but just to fill in a recommendation, good luck with the restart!
