So I’ve been looking for some new fish for a new tank, more specifically some wrasses.

There are so many beautiful fish and so many that look great in pics and not so in videos.

What would you suggest?

What I’m looking for:
1) under $100 each
2) reef safe
3) lots of color
4) good temperament and personality

Please give common names and pics if available.

Some i’ve Been looking at:
Yellow flasher, blue flasher, solar, lubbocks, red fin, Katherine’s.....

What’s the size of your tank and current fish list?

Make sure you have a tight fitting lid as wrasse are known to leap.

I like your choices, I think melanarus is underrated (especially larger males), and some leopard wrasse are really neat. Blue star leopard females and males are stunning. I also like ornate leopard wrasse.

I had a leopard in my main tank. 105g

This is my 3rd tank, it’s a Red Sea reefer 170. These will most likely be the only fish, and yes I have the lid.

@Scurvy can probably suggest some well behaved beauties

The Red Sea Reefer 170, being a 2 foot long / 34 gallon display, will make it tough to keep most of those wrasses...Maybe the lubbock's?

Kind of why I want to keep them on the smaller side... that being said a 200+ is in the works when build our new house.

However, i’m Not looking to buy any that get really large.

throwing in my recommendation for the possum wrasses. docile and stay small. :):):)

Lubbock's IMHO look better in vids:

Definitely go with a Lubbock's. Reef Safe, Lots of Color, Generally good Temperament and it's the cheapest of the fairy wrasses (Around $30-$35). If you are open to wrasses that are safe with corals but "with caution" for other inverts then there are some great members of the Halichoeres variety.

Yellow Wrasse
Red Lined Wrasse
Christmas Wrasse (specifically H. Claudia)

I think that is a 37 gal tank. That is really limited what you can put in there. I would put a Pintail Fairy, a Black Leopard and a Lubbock. Maybe a Yellowfin Flasher or McCosker Flasher.
Of these put the Leopard in last or at the same time with the others.
Maybe not the Leopard

I've always liked the red head salon fairy wrasse.

Buy them while they are small and there should be no issues. I won’t be buying any larger breed wrasses or any already in super male stage.
