Ok all, I have been going back on what light to buy for some time. First I bought a evo 3g 20k, then the 20k fixture from Luke.

Both had great color but almost a little too blue for my liking. I am running a 150w halide, Phoenix bulblumen max 3 refelctor galaxy ballast on my 24 x 24 cube.

So Here is what I am looking at.

Luke's or the Evo's 14k fixture

AI sol Blue

Vertex Illumina

the new Maxspec

or just get the Controllable ATI sunpower

Let me get your opinions. if I dont buy one before MACNA Ill be bringing one home ! I can almost guarentee it.

Thanks Much

Mojo~

Also if i got the Maxspect Mazarra would one be enough ?

from what I have read one sol blue will be enough 12 in over the water. Got a pretty good deal to buy a used AI at the moment.... so many options....

id would go with the sunpower, but thats just me.i have used all leds for 6-7 months and wasnt impressed with the growth i was getting,i had great color but growth was lierally at a stand still.

I run a combo of LED's and T5. I use the combo Blue & White LED's for Bright daytime for 10 hrs a day And two T5's actinic or blue plus for 12-14 hrs a day spliting the time they come on, before and after the LED's run to mimic sunup and sundown. I like that the T5's take the edge off of LED's. Just one Idea.

Surprised at the t5 votes. Any one use the controllable ati?

I wish they had a ledt5 fixture. Something around 500

with the MAxspect and AI Sol, you can adjust the spectrum to your liking and also run the lighting schedule for the dusk/dawn effect, with the Ai and controller, you can also program thunderstorms.

I believe you have had led's before on your rsm tank? i've seen awesome growth with my sunbrite fixture, it has 8 slots for tubes, and they make many tubes to choose from, i've been extremely satisfied with their product. but at the same time, i've also been looking at the AI Sol or Mazzera fixture as a future purchase.

well hmm, Really suprised at the results honestly. I thought it would be pretty much AI and Vertex. With a few luke and evo's

Keep the votes coming. As soon as I buy something I ll post it here. I may get all carried away and buy a new tank to match the lights.... lol I have done weirder things .

hurry up and vote guys so we can see mojo get carried away again lol

I vote DIY led T5 fixture and control the LED's with PWM, then use the T5's for high noon effect. Best of all worlds!!! Buy a cheap fixture on ebay and mod to your likings. You could even get away with the ALC module on your RKE and use the 0-10v signal...

And you are right, you have done much wierder things.

Either that, or a vertex anyways.

Lol you just want to buy it when I sell it.

Do AI plus couple t5's gonna run purple plus and kz Fiji purple.

I am going to add the t5's over my tank this weekend

If premium aquatics has a sale like fourth of July where you got 11% off for labor day that might be a good time to get one plus you will have free shipping
