Which one should I go with? BM curve 5 or BM curve A5.

How big of a tank and how heavy of a bioload?

Tank is 65g with 20g sump i'm guessing 70g total. Small to medium bio load. I think the BM curve a5 is there newer model with D.C. Pump. Just didn't know if I should go with the old model or the new.

LOL...I would have suggested a regular cylinder shaped skimmer with a normal skimmer pump. Best way to get the best size and efficiency and probably the best pump too. Are you hooked only on the skimmer types you listed?

Neither. Look at Sea Side Aquatics Curve 5......It's a BM, but comes with a Sicce pump.

Ice Cap K2-120! Sicce pump, rated for 75g heavy bioload, and small footprint! I run mine in my sump (40B display, 20H sump) and it works like a champ while being virtually silent. Plus it has a decent volume collection cup making cleaning intervals wider :)

BRS still has the Vertex Omega 130 marked down to $199.
Would love this skimmer but The footprint is a little too big.

I've looked at these to and like how there set up.

I'm not particularly hooked on that scammer but I figured it would pop up a lot. I have a 40b and have had a skimz, SCA, and a cadlights skimmer on it and I liked the SCA skimmer the best. I think the skimmer is very similar to BM skimmer that's why I picked that one.

What I'm gonna suggest is a bit oversized, so you could look at teh Comline® Skimmer 9012 (which has an even smaller footprint) instead, but I think I'd look at the Tunze DOC Skimmer 9410. $330.

Dimensions without post-filter (L x W x H): 250 x 180 x 415 mm (9.8 x 7.0 x 16.3 in.)

I set up a 65g 3 months ago. now that it has fully cycled plus some andThe holidays are over I can start stocking it. I'm using my cadlights skimmer on it now and really don't like it.

Most folks are not a fan of Cadlights skimmers due to a mixture of design and pump. I imagine they, like some of the older Bubble Magus, require constant tuning.

Skimmer compartment is 8"x10" water level 7"-9.5"

Haven't even thought about the skimmers but will look into them.
Aquamaxx C0-1 Small footprint, performs great, but does need 9.5 in depth.
I have looked at these too.

Tunze does offer a DC version for a little more, but you really shouldn't need it. :) That compartment is tight enough that I'd at least take a look at the 9012. Tiny footprint....about 4.5" square! Similar performance category. Slightly different features.

SC aquarium 302 is a good one from what I heard I run the 301 due to the fact it was the only thing I could fit. Just bought the new vertex 180i for my new stand and refugium
