My seven year old 300 watt Eheim Jaegers are slowly dying. Thinking about replacing them with another set or Finnex titaniums. What wattage would be comparable in the Finnex heaters? They aren't rated for as large a volume as the Eheim's presumably because they are smaller. I would run two. My system volume is 200g. My Jaegers ran for about seven years, how long would titaniums last?

If you have a controller I would get the 500 watt Finnex. Don't know about longevity but I love my 800watt. It's made of titanium, no switches to get stuck, no glass. If you demand more from a heater go with the titaniums, if you have a controller that is.

The titaniums also heat up faster and transfer heat better. Again, I and sooooo glad I ditched the glass misshapes wiring to happen and bought a real heater. I donated all my old Jaegers (still great heater though) to my wife for her Discus tanks. Jaegers are the only heaters that will keep a consistent temp at or above 85, so for her discus they are the only heaters we use.
