I recently moved across the country and had to tear down my beloved 250. After giving it some time, I'm ready to fire things back up - but I want to go smaller. I have a space that's about 36in wide that would work great.

I'm thinking about a Red Sea tank - but I've never done an all-in-one type setup. Does anyone have any specific tank they would recommend, since Red Sea seems to have a bazillion options. I want to maximize my water volume for that size - let's call it 24w x 36x - then however tall it can be.

I have a full APEX system so I don't need their built in controller, and I'm going to probably just use a radion.

Waterbox is the other brand - but I'm just curious if there are definite pros/cons about any of these brands? The thing I worry most about is the plumbing. When I hard plumb I use about a gallon of glue and make sure everything is tight. These setups with just clicking things into place worries me.

Thanks for the help y'all - glad to be back!

planet aquariums are good
just choose one that u like! they all have downsides, but everyone still uses them no matter what, main downsides would be stuff like leakage, but u can patch that before u actually put anything but water in the tank!

Look into the innovate marine line. I’ve seen them in person at wwc and they’re very nice, they spoke highly of them, but I don’t have experience with them. I’d personally avoid Red Sea tanks with all of their recent issues.

I am a waterbox fan. The quality is top notch and customer service is a pleasure if you need them.
They have plenty of options to fit your style and available space. You can get most products like lights and pumps through them if you like to shop at one place.
As for the all in one opinion I went from an all in one to a sump and don't plan to go back. Personal preference.

I own/owned Innovative Marine, Waterbox, Fiji Cube, and Aquaforest. IM and Aquaforest are at the top of my list. I am super impressed with the quality of my Aquaforest tank, stand, plumbing, sump, the whole package.

Thanks, it seems like nobody is all that eager to endorse REd Sea in similar ways.

I'm definitely going with a sump - just going to look at the options that have them plumbed already.
