So what i thought was diatoms growing on my sand bed, i feel like it is something else now. Its brown but it has a weird film to it. Such as when i vaccume the sand in that area its chunky and now when i get home i see flat thick film on top of it. Can anyone help me with whatever this is please!!

Cyano.
Hooray!!

Great looking worms in your sand btw.

I thought it was just diatoms till now so i always just vacumed the sand right there and let it tumble around

Might also be time to think about a few more snails or crabs. Meat eaters maybe. And or fighting choncs. .

Well its only a 10 gal and heres what my cuc consists of. 3 blue legged hermits 1 pom pom crab 3 astrea snails and i forget the snails name but its the ine that burrows down and leaves a little tube sticking through the sand i have 2 of those and then a steady growing population of stomatellas.

I was just thinking of getting a better pump because i dont use a power head in the tank just the one pump with a rotary head on it instead.

K. Look at some nassarius. And if you see one the tinyest chonk you can find. Mine is not quite an inch.

Have you seen an increase in no3 po4 at all ?

Thats what they are nassaruis i have 2 of them. Awesome little fellas. What about a emerald crab? Because im also having a small buble algea growth.

I've never had an emerald eat bubbles. Some rave about them.

It's a big crab for a small tank.
Ya want a lil sand grazer.

What would be the best thing for that..? My astreas stay on the glass and rocks and my hermits well they keep my corals algea free i can say that much but the nassarus snails they only come out for frozen food

My no3 is close to 0 and phosphates range from 0.25ppm to .50ppm my test kit at the moment is not accurate. But i thunk its what i thought it was that my media went bad or wasnt enough for the tank so i swapped it out for something alittle better.

And heres a pic of my power head. My clown fish decided he coulsnt resist the urge to photo bomb...

If that's the top right and the cyano is the bottom left. I think that's the prob.

Think about a 240 hydor. Or in the cheap I use 12v D.C. Pumps. $3 on eBay get one with the connector

Beef the nassies. A chonk. . Another crab maybe?
As in crab do you mean like hermit crab? Because the ones i have now are still fairly small.. Is there any shrimp that could work? Maybe a small goby? But i already have 2 fish in the tank.. Theres no other inverts out there for a nano?
