I’ve done tons of research but I can’t come to a decision, so I came here to get your guidance. I’m deciding between getting two pixie 30’s or a vipaspectra because black Friday is coming up but I’m just not sure what to choose. I’m also open to other recommendations because I’ve been looking online but I have only seen the same lights recommended. Right now I have a 20 long so my dimensions are 30 x 12 x 12.

EDIT: I should probably mention that I’m a beginner so I’ll be keeping beginner corals for a while until I can handle something more challenging.

The Viparspectra is a very good light, but it probably won't cover a 30" long tank. And 2 would be too long.

On a 12" deep tank, almost any led fixture will be strong enough to penetrate to the bottom. Fixtures that use 0.3 to 0.5 watt leds are OK for a 12" deep tank, but if you ever go bigger and deeper, they will probably come up short.

You might look at a Reef Breeders Photon that is 24" long. It's a bit more expensive, but a very good fixture. And would work very well over a 24" deep tank in the future. It also has more control of color and intensity.
