So I have enough space for something around 20'x20".
Will also house a couple Banggai Cardinals.
Tied into the rest of the system.
The goal is not nutrient export. The goal is just the fun of growing mangroves.
I need answers to a few questions, hoping you guys can help me out.

1) Optimum height of the tank?
2) Substrate: What kind? Depth?
3) If you started with a plain glass box, would you mod the tank at all? I need water to come in from the frag tank, and exit back to the sump.
4) How many plants? Just red mangroves or something else?
5) Optimum lighting? I'm open to anything. Right now I have one of these... but should I add LED? Switch to MH?

And of course anything else you can think of if you were to build the ultimate 20x20 mangrove tank. :)

Thanks!

Did you end up setting up this tank? I picked up some mangroves and want to do the same. Just a small tank plumbed to the rest of the system with bangaii's Would love to see pics if it's running

Awesome idea! I love mangrove tanks. I hope to add mangroves to my display fuge at some point.
