Please?

So I got a hold of an RO unit.

Here is where I am getting it hooked up to and placed. Its being tied in to my refrigerator water line. Its going to be tied into that 1/4" water line a few feet from the main line, so between pressure and the pump, I shouldnt have an issue.

Location:

Where it is being tied into:

Ill be building a small "stool" for the trash can so it can sit up higher.

a few questions:

How do I keep it from overflowing?

If I get a float switch, wont the water pressure still just go right through the pump and keep filling with RO?

Does anyone have a recommendation of a switch to use that will turn off power to my pump?
I've seen a few switches that plug into the power and the pump plugs into the switch's power cord.

I will have a drain tube go from the top of the trash can side right into the drain on the floor just in case. I want to make sure I'm not wasting water though.

Okay, your unit has a auto shut off I just looked at the manual. when the pressure reaches 29 psi it will shut off. You will still need a presser switch for the pump, or it will not shut off and will just keep pressurizing the line. Also do you have a TSD meter to test the water after it comes out of the system?

I do not have a TDS meter yet. It will be put inline though.

Looking at the pressure switch, it doesn't look like this system was designed for one. It has the power which goes right to the pump. there is no where to tie one in.

And thank you for your help.

I can manage with the wiring and crimping them into if I need to. no I bought the unit. I got the pump one due to reading a lot about issues with low pressure when using the water line to the refrigerator.

I have all the manual information and didn't think about looking for the auto shut off in the unit. I just didn't see it listed in the features.

I'm not that positive but I think you'll need a DI chamber.

You may want to consider adding a 3 gallon reserve tank for the fridge. This has eliminate all of my problems with the fridge. I still have a pump connected but this only runs when I am filling my R/O holding tank. I never here it run for the ATO or the fridge. The float switch on your RO storage container should work out just fine. I use all Murlock fittings through out. The higher the pressure results in less waste water. My RO unit gets TDS down to 5. With DI it goes to zero. Bulk Reef Supply sells the 3 gallon tank along with DI canisters And TDS meters. You can buy an inline or a hand held unit. Just be sure to tee off the fridge after the RO and before the DI. Good luck

My 3 gallon reserve tank is located in the basement below the fridge. Still no problem feeding the fridge and ice maker.

Im not running ro water to the fridge. Im just using the water line to the fridge to run the ro unit.

Im using that trash can to hold the fresh ro water
