Help me stop this noisy bubbling?

I practically give up. I can't stop this bubbling- see video (and hear how noisy it is too)

I've tried having shorter pipe just an inch under water. this one is about 3 inches under water.. it was longer at one point too.
I've drilled holes on the side of the pipe to try to stop it. nope.

I even tried to cap it off with holes and filled it with floss-- this made it WORSE.

I don't want the water free-falling into the sump either.

Please help me silence this bubbling? it's driving me nuts!

Use a ball valve, then you can close it partially to get a full syphon.

I will stop at a hardware store tomorrow to pick one up. Hope it helps

@SJ-reefer - I got the valves and installed it. it helped! not 100% better, but it's not too noisy. thank you!
