Hey everyone,

I need some help understand what I am doing wrong with my camera settings. These are taken with a Nikon D5300 through a look down tube using a Nikor 55m lens with RB only.

I then took it through LightRoom and just white balanced it, I've seen everyone else taking pictures with heavy blue and they were able to get decent colors. So I'm not sure what I am doing wrong here.

Thank you for the help, I've been trying to get something decent for the past couple of weeks and its just kind of frustrating.

Go to flikr do a search for "zoanthids" then look at the details of the photos posted. This will allow you to peak under the hood so to speak and should get you to a point where you can start tinkering with the settings that will get you closer to the results you are looking for.

Anyway keep pressing on, I have to force myself to do this when I hit walls. I believe studying these photos and lots of experimentation on your part will get you where you want to be.

Are you shooting in RAW format? If not, LightRoom won't have enough information in the photo to correctly white balance it.

Yep I am......

and then I actually checked and I had switched it back to JPEG to try and let the camera white balance.....I will report back shortly.

White balance does things...

Thanks for reminding me to check, I wasn't shooting in RAW.
