'll try to make this brief as I am tired and depressed. approx. 2 weeks ago, I was drip dosing kalk and didn't realize i opened the valve too much until the next day. 1 gallon of kalk in an 8 hour period which cloud the whole system. did a 20% water change in the display tank and 100% in the fuge. everything was good so i thought. last weekend, my fish, anenomes, and corals developed marine velvet and wiped everything out in 2 days. is it because of the kalk?

First off, I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I have experienced tank wipe outs in the past and it is a very depressing experience. However, I don't think your wipe out was due to marine velvet or any other fish disease. I think that much kalk being dumped into your system in such a short period of time raised the alkalinity & pH to levels unsuitable for marine life.
