It will slow the process for sure.Yea I wouldn’t run any type of carbon/ion exchange resins during the initial nitrogen cycle.

Okay I am just going to take it out and let it rideIt will slow the process for sure.

If they were wet it will significantly accelerate your biological development. If they were dry it won’t speed anything up.So I do not think this can hurt with my cycle but I got 2 box techs Cubs from a good friend who has a tank that is over a yeah and a almost 2 years now so they are weathered nicely they were in his sump for about 9 to 10 mouths and he has a 90 gallon that is actually holding my frogspawn and my dragon sol torch witch are doing really good
And side not polyfilter is taken out as well

Yep they were wet was in his sump for 9 to 10 months if not longerIf they were wet it will significantly accelerate your biological development. If they were dry it won’t speed anything up.
And nope that unfortunately wont be in my tank for a little while we are waiting it out till it has 4 full heads on it at least but on a good note I did only pay 5 bucks for it on a ARC auctionLOL that will probably cycle the tank in no time, i would wait a couple days and keep checking parameters, then when the ammonia is in check, add first fish and coral (not the dragon soul please!) and see how they do
So I just started it up last week and it is a AIO 40 gallon aquatop and I wanna do a mix reef but sps dom so I am going with a bear bottom and I did ammonia test yesterday and it was at like .50 ppm and my water is cloudy I did a 2 gallon water change 3 days ago and I have my both mida baskets and the two others with poly filter in them just wondering if I should be doing anything different or just sit back with no lights for a mouth or so and let it do its thing and side note when would be good to add some clowns to it as well AND DEFINITELY ANY OTHER INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

You are almost there. You can wait 2 days or just do a water change and you are ready for fish. Just go slowSo just took a cuple readings and this is what I am at PH is at 8.0 and my nitrate are 1.88 ppm and my temp is at 79 and my ammonia is at .2 on a red sea test cart pictures below
So my ammonia is at like 0.20 ppm and my nitrite are at 0 ppm nitrate is 1.88 ppm on day 9 after adding dr Tim's and that is exciting news I am definitely going to go slow 100%don't wanna mess up that is y I keep posting just to make sure all is going well thank you very much everyone much appreciatedYou are almost there. I get reminded in chemistry posts to always do the TAN math on the stated ammonia sample before knowing the true ammonia nh3 reading.
so I’d ask this: going off the directions what does .2 reduce down to after TAN, given your current tank’s pH?
lastly, is that final number within completed cycle ranges or outside em
gotta do tan conversion on the reading see directions for the ammonia kit. I didn’t know this until chemistry friends pointed it out, that initial read isn’t the one we look for in cycling it’s the converted one.
if your ammonia nh3 is ~ at .02 ppm that means all set/ running like any normal
I'm not even going to lie I am super confused on this I'm definitely not on that level lol I'm a stoner so how do we put that in them terms lolFollow up question
