Help mean fairy wrasse

Has anyone have a fairy wrasse attack a fire fish?
I thought all my fish were getting along so well.
They have been in the same tank for 3 months with no issues. Then one night when the white light went out (usually all fish but my Tang would hide) the fairy wrasse started chasing the fire fish. Then today I seen it laying on the bottom of my tank with all of its find chewed up. Do I need more aggressive fish for my tank? I still have one fire fish.

What size tank? Which type of fairy wrasse?

I currently have a fish trap sitting by my tank. Debating catching my Lubbocks wrasse for taking 3 bites out of my firefish.

Lubbocks are normally not aggressive, but there are always exceptions. I’ve had no luck with fire fish and gave up on them two years ago. In my experience, they’re not very hardy.
Provided you have a big enough tank, you could add more fairy wrasses. It would distract the Lubbock from beating up on your fire fish. Lots of great information from Evolved about fairy wrasse compatibility in the Fish Discussion forum.
