Hi Everyone,

Every morning I turn the power heads and pumps off for my tanks feed the fish and leave it off for 15min before turning them back on.

Today I forgot to turn them back on till now almost 8hrs.

what harm would I have done? All tanks are AIO, temp did not drop but 0 circulation.

Fixed it by adding a backup routine to turn them on at 10:30

If the fish are fine, no real concern. The biggest issue would be oxygen depletion, but with pumps on again it will be ok now.

I've been guilty of that, so I instituted smart-outlets that have fail-safe routines. Meaning if I shut something off, it automatically comes on later. ATO being the biggy for me. It's set to come on at 8:30P everyday because I turn it off anytime my hand goes in the tank.

I also have a "feed the fish" routine that turns pumps off, delays 10m, turns back on. Really handy!

Appreciate it, I actually had no pumps or power heads, nothing.

Everything has a fail safe now, before it was just the ATO with 1min on 3x a day.

Will check for losses

Obviously you missed some mechanical filtration time, but doubt that is going to cause any issues. Just a little instability for your coral *maybe* if they are sensitive.

A standard water change wouldn't be a bad idea, just for peace of mind.

Overall, don't worry about it. Good info actually in the event of a power outage, with your current stocking it apparently can stay "still" for 8hrs without crashing.
