Hey everyone. My mushroom came off of its rock! I've had it for about 3 weeks. Do I glue it onto a rock? Looks like there a small one growing on the rock that it came off of. The little frag piece is on the bottom left.

You can put him in a glass with some rubble in a low flow area it should re attach to rubble that you can glue back onto a plug. Havent been able to glue a shroom foot as of yet. To slimy.

Should i put it near that rock I had the frag on and leave it on the sand? Or place onto the rock with no glue...whyd ut come off lol it looked so happy. Usual?

Could be a number of things. Chances are didnt like the spot it was in. I'd put it in a cup with some rubble it should attach. If not your taking a chance of it getting moved around or lost in the tank, pump, etc.

Also do they sting? I dont wanna touch it with my hand. I do have a long coral feeder? I dunno just a little surprised is all

Agreed. Do i place some sand in a cup outside of the tank or in the tank? Sorry first time dealing with this lol

I would do what @DeniseAndy recommended with the Tupperware in tank.

They're pretty hardy, I had a yuma carpet surf 2 days ago almost cry, lol. Picked it up and placed it in the tank. I saw it today and it looks like it will make it but will be a long time to recover.

No, they don't have any nematocysts to sting with, so they are completely safe. As stated above, you're best bet will be to place it in a small cup with some rubble in a low-flow area and wait for it to attach. As also, stated, mushrooms are a type of anemone, and thusly are slimy and cannot be glued well.
The shroom looks pretty content, sometimes they'll just kind of change their mind, so to speak.
Good luck and God bless!

Glue will not work with mushrooms. Best you can do is put into a small container with rock and wait for it to attach. Or, if it attaches to a bit of sand try gluing sand to rock.
Sorry if I sound juvenile I am pretty new to this. So take some sand and water in a container and place mushroom in it...and im not keeping the container in the tank im leaving it out of the tank?

Sorry. I never want to assume on experience. I have a plastic food container that I drilled a bunch of holes into. This allows water to move through it. Then I filled with rubble (not sand) and small pieces of rock. Put the mushroom in this in a low flow area of the tank. Eventually it will attach to a rock.
Then you can take the rock and glue to where you want it in the tank.

Sometimes they do move when unhappy. It can be a pain because they get swept away and go wherever the current takes them. Into the powerhead sometimes. I have lost many a mushroom to somewhere in the rocks.

Yeah only have live sand in the tank not really any other loose material. It seems pretty content in the sand for now. Perhaps relocate and suggest to it (lol) another less flowy area in the tank and see if it likes it there?

I took a couple chunks of rubble and made a little area in his favorite corner so he would be safe.

Until just a couple of days ago he looked like a nasty was of gum. He looks great now though. Just gotta give them time.

Hey thanks for the support! Thanks EVERYONE who responded, the supoort is positively overwhelming and helpful. What happened was a piece of rubble he was attached on broke off. When I picked it up I saw a piece of rubble on its backside. I glued it back onto the rock he was originally on and removed the weak parts. Its now glued back onto a rock in the corner but on the other side this time. Its ticked tho. Looks like a blob of gum lol
