HELP! My Friend Has A Flatworm Problem!

He is used flatworm rx by bluereef and say he is not seeing any die.He also is running carbon when hes puts it in.Could The Carbon Be pulling it out that fast.

Thanks,
Reed

Carbon does pull it out rather fast. Adding a Melanurus Wrasse or Yellow Coris Wrasee should take care of the issue. Also, raising the Magnesium to 1800 and keeping it there for a period of time slows the reproduction of flatworms. Of course raise the Mag slowly.

Six line Wrasee seem to be hit or miss when it comes to eating flatworms. Some people have great success with them while others say they will not eat flatworms at all. The species of Halichoeres Wrasse are known to be the best for eating flatworms.

sixline wrasse?

Yes probably but they get mean so I wouldn't recommend one. I have a melanurus and canary and no flatworms... at won't point I had a bunch when when my tank is young and they've since died off.

What type of flatworms? They aren't all predatory of our corals, they just get to be unsightly when there are thousands of them.

*Oh another halichores I have that would be good is a Dusky wrasse. Love mine.
