Hey guys! My LFS had $10 mystery corals of various values for the black Friday sale. I managed to pick up this acro, but no idea what kind it is. Any help?
My citrinis clown goby tried to host it, but I moved it across the tank and he hasn't touched it since. Keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't bother the acro.

Not really sure on ID but if it pulls through it'll be a sweet piece imo. Looks like a fresh cut wild colony though so it could be a bumpy ride. Good luck it was definitely worth the $10!

yeah that looks ropey to say the least! :( did you check for aefw eggs? did you dip it ? seen a lot of corals in the UK like this with eggs on them :(

I'm a total noob and didn't have any iodine on hand (it's on it's way in the mail!) but I inspected it thoroughly before adding it to the tank. I'm guessing it's super stressed, it was bagged and floated Friday then they held it for my for a few days until sunday when it was bagged again and put into my tank. Will be kinda late to dip but I can dip when it gets here tomorrow. I didn't see any eggs or anything, but it's pretty ropey.

Iodine is not the best thing to dip Acro's in anyways imo it's really harsh on sps. Now that it's been in the tank for a couple days it may be to late if there is any problem. I'd do some research about good Sps dips if I were you.

Probably the easiest to get is Bayer. Great for dipping acros and easy to get at your big box home stores. Just google it.

Thank you guys, it's actually looking much better now. Still ropey, but I have noticed some new growth and the color is looking better. Hopefully I can keep it going!
My clown goby is back to hosting, but he hasn't nipped at all. He just rests in it. Keeping a close eye on him...
