2.8 dKH sounds very unlikely. 2.8 meq/L is fine.
The woman In the shop said she has never seen alk that low and she tested 3 times. Every thing else is fine but she said with the alk that low she is surprised my tank is still running. If say it is 2.8 what or how should I dose this product? Thank you

I personally would not assume 2.8 dKh is correct, and if you dose up to normal levels and it was wrong, you'll hurt the tank.

I have literally seen tens of thousands of alkalinity reports by folks over more than 20 years, and NONE (that I can recall) were below 3 dKH. It's hard to get there.

Did she test 3x with the same test kit?
Yes but the woman has had 23 years experience lol. My torch coral doesn't look great and my anemone is shrunken up but opens in the dark. I have recently added 4 new corals. Never tested for alkalinity tbh.

You should get your own alkalinity test. :)

How would you use this product if say the woman was right?

lol

That presumes something I don't believe to be true, but suspending disbelief for a moment...

I'd boost the tank by 1 dKH per day (split 0.5 dKH AM, 0.5 dKH PM) until you reach 7 dKH then pause there for a while.

Not implying she didn’t know what she was doing but if the testing reagent was bad- then you’d get the same bad results all 3x with a common point of failure. (It’s why I always test with 2 diff bottles)

I'd have to agree that the test was probably off. Alk is super important so by never testing for it, your setting yourself up for immediate failure. You could always do a water change to add alk
