Help my Naso tang !

My new Naso tang has been fine but a little after I turned the lights off I noticed big white dots on them which I believe are to big to be ich. I only notice this when the lights are out.

A few questions:
How long have you had it?
Did you QT? If so, what method if any?
How big is the tank it is in?
How big is the fish?
They almost look too big to be ich. Maybe some people from reefsquad can help!

Reading some of your other threads, it looks like you have at least 2 other tangs in what looks to be a 60 gallon tank. What else is in the tank? Stocking and coral wise?

Those spots are normal on juvenile Nasos. Stress and/or lights out will bring them out.

Naso discolor like that for nearly anything. Stress, disease, parasites, bad water quality, etc. I haven't seen them do it that much at night but it's certainly true that nearly anything can cause it.

Do you quarantine your fish?

I woke up to find the spots are gone.

I'm going to make a reputation of "OMG, that reminds me of...", but after dealing with them once I see dead people. I mean, I see isopods. I'm sure the experts above nailed it, but if those come at night, gone when the lights come on, just double check up close for beady eyes! Just in case!!!

Otherwise, I need new glasses, I stared at the pic wondering "Where's the tang?" for a bit, lol. Best of luck on that tang!!

HaHa, I'm the same way but substitute Velvet for Isopods.
