I’ve had this tang for a few months and it’s always been the most aggressive eater. The whole tank is currently undergoing hypo salinity. The tang was eating the whole time I was lowering salinity but now that it’s at 0.011 SG it only seems interested in algae. Every other fish in the tank is eating.

Why are you at hypo? Most likely stress from low salinity.
Battling ich. Do you think he’ll adjust and get better? They’ve only been at hypo for some days I’d hate to have to raise the salinity again and ruin the treatment.

There are better ways to insure success battling ich, one is TTM. Hypo isn't the best way to deal with it, as there are no guarantees that hypo will kill all the ich. Of course copper is probably the best way.

If I was to guess, it won't regain it's appetite during hypo salinity.

I’ve tried EVERY medication except Copper. I hope this finally works. I’ve already started the treatment I will wait 8 weeks and hope for the best.

You tried EVERY medication?

Or every medication you could put in a tank?

Hydrogen Peroxide? Chloroquine Phosphate?

Hypo really isn't effective unless it is 1.009 and does not go above that (or below).

i have actually tried nothing but over feeding and my powder over came it naturally. if they eat a ton they stay healthy. or maybe i just got lucky?

I should rephrase that I’ve tried every REEFSAFE MEDICATION. Interesting I will look into it. I don’t want to stress my PBT more by reducing the salinity even lower idk if he can handle it but I will definitely do my research.

Is the poop normal or white?
Is it thinning?
How is its breathing?
Bump salinity to minimum 1.024
