Help my tank has a crack!!!

Bad news the fish died. My phospates, nitrite and nitrate all seem to be in order. But my salinity somehow is over 1.028 not sure how it got here. Any advice to bring the salinity down?

Remove some saltwater and add water back.

Did you set up the new enclosure and move everything over? Did you move over old sand?

How did the fish die? Gasping for air? Burned gills?

Removing salt water and topping off with fresh will bring you down. 1.028 isn't that high. May still be wise to do it in two legs.

I ended up doing new sand and moved the live rock over.been running both the old and new filters The fish had no burned gills. Not sure if it was gasping for air as I noticed my blue damsel was the only one with maybe a little Bloat (stomach felt hard) everyone else looked normal

I ended up doing new sand and moved the live rock over.been running both the old and new filters The fish had no burned gills. Not sure if it was gasping for air as I noticed my blue damsel was the only one with maybe a little Bloat (stomach felt hard) everyone else looked normal. Did a water change and still looks high. Any thoughts on a bacteria on the rock killing the fish?
