Hello, my open brain coral is receeding. I did get a good deal on it because its injurued. I tjiught i can bring it back, but its getting worse...ive been dosing lugols solution every couple of days (3drops), feeding the coral with coral pellets, benipets and reefroids (not sll on the same day, of course) and notmal maintenance of calcium, alk and mag. Here are some pics.

The only way to salvage A Part of it is too use a frag plier and cut into the healthy tissue and break off a piece of it, while ensuring that none of the damaged tissue is attached to the healthy piece you cut. It should heal and eventually grow again, but you need to do that. If not the tissue necrosis will consume the whole coral.

I would strongly advise against fragging that coral IMO. Stop feeding it as well unless it has its feeding tentacles out. I would make a dip from an iodine solution like seachem reef dip to combat the necrosis. Fragging a trachyphyllia is nothing like fragging a montipora or chalice to save said coral.
