Hello guys i am in need of some help or advice.. I am in the process of buying a 125 gallon with stand, sump every thing necessary for a reef tank the only problem Is that the tank is currently running with live rock and live stock.. So what would be the best way on transporting this from the sellers house to my house.?

Ive used large totes to haul rock and to keep a little water on them I used old towels. As for sand id leave it in the tank after removing the water, then make a decision to keep it or replace it. I have always replaced it when ive bought used so I knew exactly what was hiding in the sand.

I mixed up some saltwater for the rock when I got home and used a powerhead for movement. I didn't get to use the rock for 2 days so the rock was fine in the tote with the powerhead. Plus this will give you a good chance to scrub on the rock and maintence it a bit in case the rock had some algae or unwanted critters.

I would say that would be best and youll be happier in the long run if you replace it. When you get everything going start up a tank thread and post pics of this new tank, we all love pics lol. Welcome to R2R!
