I have a 220 gallon display that has been up for a year and a half, and I was thinking that I might purchase a calcium reactor. I have a Reef Octopus KS-100 kalk stirrer that I am using, but seems that I am hand dosing every other day to maintain dkh. I am looking for some calcium reactor feedback with different brands. Also what equipment would I need to purchase to set it up. I have 289 total gallons of water volume in my system.

(A calcium reactor that I wouldn't literally be afraid to put on my tank costs north of a grand, BTW. If you switch, look to a two-part doser instead - even if you still use it to dose kalk.)

Good point, I have noticed when new kalk is added to the reactor I will get a increase in alk. I would say that it is dead, I need to figure out when to add to it. I will look at the two part dosing pumps, you recommend any certain brands? Thanks
