I made the mistake of putting one of my candy Nems in my big tank from my nano last night without covering my wave makers. I came into the room this morning, wave maker off with nem closed up inside of it. That being said there looked to be no particles in the water nor did he look torn up just closed up. Question being do I still need to do a large water change? If so what else do I need to do to keep my fish alive? I am buying covers today for the wave makers before that happens again.

Fish:
(2) clowns
(1) larger tang
(2) Blennys
(1) Jewel
(1) mandarin

Had this happen just a few months ago with a BTA. I did a 20% water change after and my skimmer still went crazy for a few days. If everyone looks okay chances are they're all going to be okay.

Think you will be fine without doing a water change how big is nem/and tank

I think you run into trouble when they dissolve into the water.

I broke a glass heater in the sump and it heated up my tank overnight. The large anemone dissolved and wiped out absolutely everything. The water looked like light brown sewage!
This was around 2010, right before the incident:

The nem was still relatively small, not much bigger than 4", it's a 125G tank with a sump.

Definitely be fine mate if it hasn’t turned to slime

Appreciate it, everything online was saying to do a huge water change and I was really not looking forward too it.

Sounds like you lucked out

I would do some big water changes

And run a good amount of fresh Rox Carbon

I had one get stuck on the nem guard of a gyre, and that's what I did for that. Had to toss the nem

Why,nems ok and in that volume of water I don’t see need to if skimmer was going crazy then maybe
