I have a purple pussey coral and cut a long story a couple of weeks ago it was fine with all polyps extended, now it has shrivelled but polyps still extended. Been like this for around a week, water isn't perfect but better than it was a couple of weeks ago.

You may want to elevate it a little as it require moderate light and adequate water flow. It responds like leathers and low flow makes it unhappy. Additionally, your tank appears to be fairly new and the coral bedding seems filmed over and needing a light siphon. Not an ideal specimen for a newer tank but now that you have it, requires additional monitoring and management of the tank.
Typical parameters recommended are listed below. Focus for now on the ones in bold.
What test kit(s) are you using ?

Temp 77-79 = 26c
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.025
nitrate < .4
phos < .04
Ammonia < .03

mG 1300
Alk 8-9
CA 440

Hi MarkAshlee.... Welcome to the Fishy Family! We're here to help. Can you share your latest parameters?
Hi I bought the tank second hand so the sand etc was disrupted week 1 was:- sg-1031/nitrate-40/phosphate 0/5 KH-11.8. Week 2 :- sg-1025/nitrate - 30/phosphate - 3+/KH-10.9. Week:-sg-1024/nitrate - 15/phosphate - 2+/KH-10.1 I have changed my sand(slowly) and I am using nopox and rowaphos. Also wet skimming to remove the phosphate from the nopox. Thanks for replying

Could be flow, placement, instability.... have you been doing water changes or just dosing and skimming? Temp?
Overall, this is a pretty new tank and it is going to need to have time to stabilize. You are diligent in trying to get everything within norms but don't move too fast. Changes in a reef tank are like turning a cruise ship. Too fast, it becomes a destroyer.
Seriously though..... move that nem away from the wavemaker. They also make little foam covers to cover the intakes. It is not uncommon for a new to get sucked in and that is very unfortunate for the nem and the rest of the tank.
Good luck with it!

I get my water tested at my local marine shop, they have helped me get my levels down. I have a jbl pro but the shop said they aren't very good. Shall I put it up near the top of the rock on the left? Thanks in advance

Hi my temp is at 26,the nem has been moved since the picture so that's all good. When I got the tank I did a 100 litre change (300ltr tank) also when I changed the sand I did a 50 litre change.

No- just more into the path of flow. Your NO3 and Phos are very elevated. The rowaphos will lower but may also strip the tank of nutrients in the long run as Ferris oxide is potent. Continue to monitor.
If youre changing sand, that may explain the rise in nitrates.

Thankyou very much for your help, I'll try that tomorrow when the lights are. I'll post new pics in a few days if the coral looks any better after moving it. Thanks again
