Help needed Bashsea sump!

I’ve got a great chance to buy a Bashsea Smart sump 30x15x16 with a Coralbox D500 skimmer for $200. I cannot find much info on Bashsea website about recommended tank size. My display is 90gallon, would this size be adequate for my display?

Yeah that should work fine. For me, as long as the sump holds all the equipment I want to run, and holds the water from the DT in a power outage without overflowing, then the sump is big enough for the tank.

I’ve never read much into Coralbox Skimmers, anyone have one of these? This one is a D500 seem plenty powerful enough for 90 gallons.

So I bought the Bashsea sump and skimmer plus a Kessil H80 w/arm for $250. Feel like I got a steal on this stuff! Now on the Bashsea sump there is option for 3 filter socks, the guy that had it only used 2 bulks, left other empty. He did not have any instructions either, and I cannot find any online. So what’s the best way to plumb all three socks in? Should the main overflow line split into 3?

I run a bean animal overflow, I have 3 drains from my overflow box to the sump, primary, secondary and emergency. I only use the filter sock on the primary. Look at my build thread for pics

Ok makes sense with your setup, and nice build. My tank from glasscages is only setup for durso overflow, I know not super safe for overflow however I have tested several times and if a clog would happen the tank holds rest of the return pump compartment of my current sump. Will have to check with the Bashsea as well once I replace with it. With a durso overflow would you just run one pipe and sock or could you split this into two pipes or even 3? Any reason too or advantages or disadvantages to this?

The only thing that comes to mind is how do you plan on getting the water to go into each sock? Water goes the path of least resistance so you’d have to build a drain manifold with either a tee that ensures equal parts makes it to each sock or valves for flow control. If you were going to use two socks you could bring your drain down as if you were going to use the middle sock and then tee off each direction out to the two outer socks and 90 down to drain into the socks. I can’t think of a way do all 3 without valves for flow control. But honestly two is plenty in my opinion. Most people that use all 3 are typically only using one or two anyway. The third is just for an emergency drain. For your setup (Durso) I would think just using one or two would be the way to go.
