Hi all
2 weeks ago i cleaned my maxspect powerhead the next day brown algae?
Had my water tested kh low 7 and o.oo phosphate.so i brought a hanna tester and have been dosing keep my kh at 9 all good but pho still reading o .
The brown algae does not go away at night with lights off if i clean it its back within 1 hour.
I waterchange every week. I have turned my skimmer down turned off refug light and still no change.
I am feeding pellets and sheet sea weed .All fish and corals are doing good but the algae and phosphate i cant seem to win any help.

Im not sure i have changed my bulb in my uv and nothing has changed also it doesnt go away at night

I normally add coral food or phyto to get my phosphates up. Sounds like something started a cycle like adding new rock or maybe your dkh swing created a disturbance. You may just need time and consistency

This happens to me when my phos gets to zero too. I think it’s dinos but they go away when I get phosphates around .1 and nitrates around 10-15. I don’t know how much AB works at raising phosphates I’ve never tried it. I used AB+ for awhile but my phosphates never swayed while I tried it out. Phyto almost crashed my tank before I realized how much phosphates it adds.

Ya im gonna get a hanna tester for phos then try and raise it im dosing 12 m of ab+ daily but i think my test kit is crap.is reef roids what raises phos
