So I bought a maxima clam from LFS. On the same day I used some aquascape construction epoxy to do some rock work. The waster was bit cloudy. But I thought it is reef safe so I put the clam in. My clownfish was not find on the night, laying on the bottom of the reef tank. So I did 50% of water change. I woke up today, the mental of the clam was curved in. I had two maxima before never see this happened. Need suggestion.

How much did you use? Do you have a skimmer? Its important to use a skimmer with that epoxy stuff

Looking bad. Get him out of that water to clean water or new tank. Either that or leave him be and hope for the best. There is nothing else to do other than more water change. Good luck
Merry Christmas

What brand was the epoxy? I've used multiple brands of 2 part sticks for mounting corals and never had this issue w my maxima. You probably did stress the crap out of it w all those changes in one day, seeing that its that new to your tank i wouldn't point just at the epoxy as the only culprit. What are the rest of your parameters? What type of lighting? Did you mix up the substrate while messing around? Were the rocks you messed with new?

Hi there I think u are right about stressing the clam, I made too much changes in one go. My parameter are okay? ( no3 is 3, PO4 is 8). lighting is led, Sps mode. Rocks were in my tank all the time, I just restructured it. It was the aquarium solution epoxy I used.

Hi! Thanks for helping so I did 50% water change for three days and the clam seems little bit better. This is what I got. Do u recommend another water change today or leave it? The mantle is still bit bending in.

I've never used that brand before. I see on their website they have a warning if water becomes cloudy. More water changes might help if there is any cloudiness remaining.

It seems more of an aeration issue when using
I got this from LFS, I think lots of people use this product in the UK. Also, Thanks for helping. That is what they say but I am 99% sure it is something else. So I saw the cloudiness in the tank and stoped. Then I used a really powerful air bump for like the 3-4 hours (52Liter tank). The water cleared up soon, but The clownfish was still down so I did water change and the clown start swimming a little bit better but still refused to eat. The next day the clownfish refused to eat and clam looked died. So I did a another water change. After that the clown fish started eating a bit. I don’t think oxygen can cause this long effect and the coral I had in my tank are acan and hammer I don’t think they can release toxin either.

Sounds like you've taken the right steps so far. Good fish started eating again. Only thing I know to do is run carbon, and as previous poster noted to perform moderate size water changes. Hopefully clam recovers today.
