Hello,
Can you guys please help me to identify these nasty stuff in my reef tank?
It looks like hair and is growing crazy....
Can someone please tell me what this is and how to remove it??
I ordered yhe product call "RAZOR" from brightwell but not sure if this is the right product to use.
Please let me know.

Thank you

Looks like hair algae with detritus build up. I would improve flow and work on lowering nutrients. Lighting schedule is also key. Best of luck :)

Thanks for the informations.
The tank is pretty old- maybe 5 years but I just started to add some corals about month ago.
And this is my parameter but I don't even know this is good or not.
Hard to tell by the reading colors.
Is the product called Razor from brightwell the right product to use?

You need real test kits, not strips. And research what parameters are "good".

Again, I recommend that you manually remove as much algae as you can (with your hands, tweezers, etc) and then get some cuc to help keep it in check.
I do NOT recommend adding any chemicals at this point... ESPECIALLY since you need to learn about proper testing and water chemistry.

Good advice given. Bolster clean up crew, I recommend reefcleaners.org

Get some salifert, red sea or hanna tests. Nitrate, phosphate and alkalinity.

During water changes use your fingers and a toothbrush, along with your gravel vac and remove what algae you can by hand.

Before any dosing or chemicals, get an accurate test completed. Your local fish store can probably test for you.

Are you using RODI water? Tap water could be causing your issue. Given you're just starting to attempt coral I can guess 2 things. One, you haven't been too focused on water chemistry before. Two, you've recently added lights to the tank that have caused this algae outbreak. You're going through the ugly phase, just 4 1/2 years after most of us do.

I'm going to echo what's already been said:
1. Get real testing kits or Hannah checkers
2. Manually remove GHA
3. Increase flow
4. Decrease white light (red too if you're using it)
5. Get nutrients in balance.
6. DON'T try any chemical quick fixes for this particular problem.
