Help needed with protein skimmer

Today I bought the Eshopps x-120 protein skimmer. Water is just running through it and there is no foam, im trying to fine tune it but have no idea what im tuning lol can some one please be kind to help a noob out. Thanks in advanced

New skimmers will have a break-in period of a couple of days where they're going to go nuts but there should be an air adjustment valve try opening it all the way and let it run like that for a while

I've got the X-160. After a few days or so if it's still not functioning properly try elevating it off the floor of your sump. I had to elevate mine about 6 inches and it works fine now.

i was going to elevate it now. So it should start producing foam.

When I first got my Eshopps skimmer I didn’t realize there was a clear plug in the air intake and it didn’t work because of that, just water flowed through. Make sure you check that.

i found the clear plug. Do you need it ?

If it’s what I found, no. It was simply blocking the airline tubing to the pump and once I took it out the skimmer worked fine.
