Help Needed

Hi got these last weekend was told it’s a good beginner forgot the name but it doesn’t look like it did in store. could I need to move it closer to light? The mushroom is doing great.

All of them should do well in low to moderate light i dont think too little light would be issue. How is the flow?

The top two which I assume are the same coral are kenya trees. Personally i don’t really pay much attention to my kenya trees and mushroom, but they do seem to enjoy medium flow.

Sometimes the Kenya trees shred by closing like that. The shredding are toxic to corals so remove Em if u can

Just give the Kenya tree time. I have HUNDREDS of them, unfortunately. One piece of advice, trim it. When they get bigger the branches will separate move around your tank and re-attach. I started with a single piece like you have now and wish I never put it in there. Or at least paid very close attention. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of them all now...

shred? Like itself? It seems to do it at night.

Any fluctuations in salinity?

When I use to have soft corals they seemed to care more about that than anything else.

You might want to start this thread over in the soft coral forum. Most of the ppl around here aren't focused on these types of coral.

He meant ‘shed’, as in slough off its outer layer. They do this periodically, nothing to worry about. I would just give it time. Are both pictures in your tank or is the top one at the lfs and bottom in your tank? Either way, if your mushroom is doing okay, the Kenya tree should too, they can just take a few days to acclimate.

Hi both are in my tank, seems at night it balls up. Anyone know what the mushroom is, it’s doing great.
