Help needed

This a little confusing. Start over. Do a 40% water change and test after 24 hrs and and keep track thereafter
What test kits are you using?

ok no ,it has a drain ? guessing overflowing in bucket? let go. keep eye on salinity and replace water as needed

I meant earlier the skimmer was foaming in the chamber of the skimmer itself, sorry for the confusion
Skimmer foaming may have to do with wAter height. You have to raise or lower unit until you find a happy spot(height)
Canister- due to lack of chemical filtration and limited biological filtration, unless cleaned every 7-10 days can elevate your ammonia and nitrate levels quickly.

I would nothing but watch for any signs of stress and be able to do a big water change (same temp) if starts to slow down or pop his head out at the surface.

Sometimes not reacting too quickly is the better way by putting less stress on the newbies, especially the PBT, he/she are one of the challenging fish IMM.
