Hey folks. Looking for some advice on how to handle this out break in my tank.

Long story short. Out of town for work a few months. Tank and RODI neglected. Algae bloomed.

Aside from getting in there and removing as much by hand as I can, doing a large water change, and correcting RODI, are there other steps that should be taken?

Tank is 90G with 30G sump. Chaeto fuge only with occasional socks. Lights are on about 13 hours a day from 9AM - 10PM

I know this is a long game. Willing to do what it takes to get things cleaned up.

If it were me, I would manually remove all the big stuff. Remove chaeto from fuge. Then add fluconazole (Flux rx) per directions. A large water change after that.

Got room for med foxface ? dolabella seahare ?
agree manual to start ,not too much too fast, gfo, phosphate pad, watch your params as doing.
Don't try quick fix in a bottle !! JMO... :)

Hey Matt, thanks for the reply. What's the reasoning behind pulling the Chaeto from the fuge?

The fluconazole may kill it. I have been able to put chaeto in a separate container of tank water to keep it alive while treating my tanks. If you use fluconazole, be prepared for a nutrient spike, and plan a good water change accordingly. Also to remove the medication so the chaeto can go back in.

Basically what others have mentioned and what worked for me. Manual removal, turbo or 2 or 3, less lighting and fliuc if there’s bryopsis. Looking on my phone with blurry unfocused morning eyes but is that most hair algae?
