Hey guys, I am wanting to do a negative space aquascape for my 93g Cube because I think it will offer the best esthetic for the size and shape of the tank.

My question, has anyone found cheaper solutions for super glue and mortar then buying it from Bulkreefsupply? I looked around on amazon but you just never know. So I was hoping some people in the community have some experience with some different products.

I just want to be sure before I spend $100+ on glue and mortar lol.

Thanks for this. Wondering though. Iv seen two methods of building with Marco rock. One the way BRS did it. Using super thick superglue and instant set. Then I saw another guy who used thin super glue and super fine crushed marco rock. What way have you done it?
I've always used thin.
Here is some NSA I've done, and one that wasn't NSA but was done this way . It was for a 325 gallon tank so I built it modular. 12 peices total. 185 pounds of marco rock.

Looks great! This is exactly what I am looking for.

Thank you, @F i s h y for shout out!!!

@Cleverbs - from what we see using thick + accelerator is basically a hack to improve on polymerization time. Thick is usually used on surfaces where you do not want to have glue penetrating into the substrate and you use accelerator to speed up cure time, degrading the bond structure effectively. If you can get away with using thin you get both a) strong bond b) almost instant set. It also works perfectly with the method @F i s h y showcased above.

1 note : please wear rubber gloves, mask and work in a well ventilated area. Our product is strong, sets fast. Do not use cloth anything as CA glues heat up on polymerization, especially when in contact with cloth materials - therefore your gloves should be rubber ones.

I went with the thin superglue (Gluemasters) and finely crushed coral to build this for my 25gallon peninsula. Really easy to work with, pleased with the way it turned out!

I used cyano glue with reef putty for mine. Glue down on 1 side, smoosh the putty into the glue, then glue on the other side, smoosh to the other rock. Worked great for me and I built it in my garage.

@F i s h y Not sure how much glue to buy. Any thoughts? Seems like you have done this a few times.

What are the dimensions of the scape you are hoping to accomplish roughly? My gut says 2 should be more than enough maybe even 1. But I need the size of your scape for reference

Well the tank is 30x30x24 so my guess for the scape would probably be 22x22x18. You know it will just depend. Also the bottles come in 2oz, 8oz, 16oz
