Help! New clownfish laying on the sand

Hey so I just got two new clowns for my 10gallon. The tanks been up for 3 days. I know but I have live sand, bio balls from an old tank, and Fritz turbo in the tank. I have a 20 gallon tank that runs fine but I’m worried my clown in there will just attack these ones. They are laying on the sand bed. Any suggestions?

Do you give them a dark period? do you feed well?

they could be sleeping, resting, need more food or ill, hard to say without more info.

You’ve obviously thought about the bio-filter piece and have reason to expect it to work out, but...didya do an ammonia test?

You can always throw some Prime in there as a first step to give some protection against ammonia. Also, you can always put them in an acclimation box in the 20 gallon to shield them from the clown in there if you think there's something wrong in your 10 gallon.

I did not test for ammonia! They are actually doing fine now! I think I shocked them when the light came on....

I go for at least 8 hours, they need dark to sleep, as dark as you can make it would be best.
