Hey everyone , I picked up a small purple tang this past weekend . He is currently in Q.T , behavior appears and he is eating. I however notice this morning before heading out to work that one of his eyes looks cloudy. No visible swelling or popping out. Just a cloudy film that I guess I would compare to a cataract. Any suggestions on treatment. I currently haven’t added any meds yet as I wanted to get it settled and eating first which it is. I did notice that as it went for spirulina flakes this morning it missed its target a few times so I am assuming this eye issue is affecting its vision.

It could be flukes, bacterial infection or physical damage. With all eye issues aggressive approach is necessary.

I would do a fw dip to rule out flukes. Assuming nothing drops off, treat with erythromicin.

+1

Can also dose plain epsom salt for swelling, 1 Tbs per 5gallons

Thanks for the help. I came back home and his eye looks normal. Maybe I need to have mine checked. Needless to say I started prophylactic treatment of prazi. I also grabbed some erythromycin on the way home so that’s in stand by if needed.
