You can see the algae buildup on the glass after me cleaning it just yesterday

Hello!!! you are soo lucky my friend because you get so many help here. I will tell you honestly that i'm really jealous on you because i spent hours to read and try to learn and when i add a question i was lucky to get maximum few people to answer me....more or less same people. I open a building thread and same result, not so interesting like what you have done. Killing Life Creatures!!! I was amazed when i see your tank and i believe you did not read nothing before you start this tank. You just add water, some bacteria and next day you get best water parameter. Congratulation. And you add life creatures...Before you drive a car you must learn how to do it, if not you can kill people. Same with reef tanks and same with everything. Of course what you do is not that bad...they are just fish and if you have money you can buy more...
And if i'm here i don't lose the opportunity to advertise myself maybe some people want to watch my building thread and answer to my questions too, maybe you want to watch too because i'm beginner also and my tank it's same age like what you do. And i don't pretend that i'm more smart that you, no i'm not. I don't really know almost nothing, also eanglish i don't know good, it's hard for me to rite and read. But i care about things and i'm less ignorant, that's for sure!!!

I agree with the "not enough live rock" comment.

If you can't buy more live rock to stock your DT / Sump properly, you could use a canister filter. It can be a nitrate factory but at least it is very efficient at oxidizing ammonia so long as your water is well aerated. It can serve as a GFO /carbon reactor at the same time. Just a thought. Probably best to bite the bullet and buy some more live rock though.

Canister filters don't have anaerobic areas for denitrification to occur, so your water chemistry would certainly benefit more from live rock.
