What are you feeding?
What is your po4 at? Iron? Dosing?
there are so many reasons why this sticks around. Its being fed what it needs to live

po4.

slap in a gfo or phosguard.
what is your nitrate at?

Nitrate is at 0 and phosphate is around .25

I switched back to RO water and built a DIY algae scrubber using my old canister filter... hope it works out slowly but surely..

doesnt matter

you are in the land of po4>no3

i swear im gonna do a writeup on this and have someone make a sticky.

dose nitrate now. you are in a $$$$ battle if you gfo it out waiting on no3 to climb.

po4 should NEVER be above nitrogen.

i only say this with the loving kindness of fairies blessing a princess with a good life.

How to you dose nitrate? What other methods do you use to increase nitrates?

When i was going through a bunch of write ups regarding both nitrate and phosphate, it mentioned that you cannot get rid of one without the other.. my nitrates shows almost 0 and my phosphate is around 20-25ppm.

Your going to be using alot of GFO to get those phosphates down. You will need to test every couple of days once you start GFO, once you see the phosphate number stabilize instead of going down, then you need to change it out. You need that number between .05-.03

2.5 you mean.

throw the api kit away and get a red sea pro kit or a hanna checker

My bad.. its at .25ppm phophate test and i think 0 on the nitrate test see pics attached

Didn't you just post the use of tap water in another thread?

Hmmmmmm.

Yes i did... this topic of phosphate increased is currently discussed in 3 posts... problem solved by Russ's write up to follow on balancing your tanks nutrient levels... i think that will help me stabilize my tank and can add corals moving forward...
