Anyone have an idea what this is? It was on my green star polyp rock.

Amphipod. Extremely common. They eat detritus and such.

Oh that’s a huge relief! Thank you very much! I’m a complete noob on the random critters category, haha. I removed him and he died while I was taking the picture but I bet there is others in there.

They're not necessarily bad but I have seen them irritate corals sometimes... its a main reason why I like keeping wrasses in my tanks
