Help on red scooter blenny feeding (dragonette)

I recently bought a 2 and a half inch red scooter blenny from my local fish shop. My buddy there told me to give it a little bit of time for him to acclimate to frozen food. I feed my clownfish spectrum new life pellets daily with the exception of frozen brine shrimp approx 2 times a week. I feed once a day a few squirts of rotifers to the blenny with a Turkey baster. I assume I should shut the power head and sump off when I do? Also how do I know If he is getting enough food? He seems to be pecking every couple of minutes at the sand throughout the day. Any ideas?

Scooter blennys need a huge population of copepods and will not just live off of frozen foods.
How old is the tank ?

About 4 months and has plenty of bacteria, it's a 16 gallon biocube. With live sand and now the rock is live. I also have a moderate brown hair alage bloom right now so the lights are cut down a bit.

I would return the scooter unless you plan on buy copepods .

I can def go buy live copepods. I know my one local aquatic store has them. Would that work?

Yes but you would be spending lots of money trying to sustain enough for it

Ok. So worse comes to worse my friend will take him back. I dont want anything to happen to him. I'd rather get him someone with a bigger tank that can sustain it then. My one friend said they will transition but I dont want to hurt him.

They will take frozen foods but it won’t be enough to keep it fat and happy

Right now I have gutloaded rotifers and plankton I feed but I heard any bigger like cyclops could be too big. So it might be a good idea to talk to my fish store about taking him back.
