Though my doser was set up properly but unfortunately the timer emptied about 100 mL of Reef Fusion 2 into my 75 gallon tank over 2 hours.

Lights are off, everything seems fine ATM but my Alkalinity is way up to 11+ (normally around 7.5 with lights off.)

What should I do? The salt I use has 11 dKh so I don't think water changes would be beneficial.

Thanks

I'm guessing this isn't the case, but if you happen to have some old tank water around (like if you use an AWC), you could use that to change some of the current tank water.

I would let tank run and turn off doser for now. Had mine rise to 12.9 about month ago due to overdose also. Nothing bad occurred but I don’t have many sensitive corals(mostly monti’s) level went back to normal (8.5) after a week I believe.

I would do nothing, unless you happen to have muriatic acid around. If you have the doser off now, in a couple days you should be back closer to in range. If you start getting precipitate, it’ll just have to run it’s course. Every time I have overdosed (most recently it was kalk) my attempts to bring the pH (in this case) back down cause much more problems than it solved had I just left it alone.

Very nice !! I have Randy’s calculator and have used this a few times and it is very useful. Thanks for providing this link for all. I keep this archived as well!

I accidentally dosed 2000 Mills of alkalinity in my tank last Monday, Normal dosing amount is 45. I just let it ride for about 4 days till everything stabled out, I performed 3 30% water changes then Soaked all the pumps and heaters in citric acid. I cleaned the glass and made sure I changed out my filter socks daily. I've been bringing the mag and calcium back up in everything should be back to normal by tomorrow.
