Help! Peppermint is eating my rock flower!

So I’ve had a peppermint and a rock flower in the same tank for a will now. Probably 2-3 months. But I was watching my tank this morning and my rock flower was closed. I posted this and some one said it was pooping. I do however believe this. Then I saw my peppermint climb over to the rfa and start pulling what looks to be pink flesh out. What do I do? And how do I catch the peppermint?

Get a gatorade bottle and cut it in half. Stick the open end inside making a trap. Use algae wafers to wedge in the bottle and the shrimp will go inside to eat it. Worked for me last week on a peppermint that was munching on corals. Just wait till he goes inside before pulling it out. They are too fast to catch and once they see the net.. good luck... youtube has some good videos about these traps. Good luck friend!

Ok! Is there some treatment I need for my rfa now tho? It seems like it was picking at it all night.

If you have a spare powerhead, you can pop the top grill off and cover the RFA while you catch the shrimp.

The RFQ will recover, I had one that was mostly eaten by a blenny, and it came back to full health within a month.

No. It will heal with water changes and good water quality. Just need to get that shrimp gone.

Rouge peppermint shrimp! My suspicions confirmed!
I have two peppermint shrimp in my display tank. I obtained them last August.
I thought they would eat my aiptasia, which they did amazingly well.
I assumed they would turn to stealing fish food and detritus after that.
Around the beginning of the year I began to have trouble with selective corals: favia, lobophyllia, duncan, candycane while other corals look great. I have been chasing not enough light, high nutrients, and coral aggression for months.
Now I am going to be chasing my peppermint shrimp!!!

Peppermint Shrimp usually don't bother anything and will parish when they run out of aptasia. The problem is the Camel and Hingebeak Shrimp look similar and are often sold as Peppermints. Those 2 will have a hump on their backs.
