Tank: 24g AIO cube, newly cycled and ready to go. First two fish, a pair of caramel clownfish, are halfway through quarantine. Want to get the next 1-2 fish in quarantine immediately following. What do you recommend for the next fish to add? In fact, if you have recommendation of the next 3-4 fish, in order, that would be AWESOME!! Picture of clowns for attention...

In a 24g system I would not recommend more than 4 or 5 small fish total. Your clown will get to be a decent size and have a fairly high bioload. I would look into something like a clown goby, or a Yasha Goby and Pistol shrimp pair. You could also consider a dartfish or a Rpyal Gramma.

I agree, you get a lot of fun out of a (eg yellow watchman) goby + pistol shrimp. They live mainly in the caves that the pistol shrimp builds for them so it's a different habitat and they wont get in eachothers way.

I should have mentioned that a 200g display tank is in process, and should be wet (realistically) before the end of summer (although everything seems to be moving slow these days, so maybe end of year is a safer guess?). The 24g cube will be feeding fish into that, and will continue to be an observation tank in the future.

That being said, I want the fish to be comfortable in the meantime. I was hoping a goby/shrimp pair would be recommended, and I'm 2 for 2 so far. I think that's what I'll add next!

Thank you!!
