Help picking a t5 for my 100g sps dominant.

I sold 2 of my g3 pros and need help picking a t5 for my 100g.

The tank measures, 48x24x20tall.

I really love the look of the Matrixx II non-dim fixtures, and am pretty much set on them. I know ATI are tried and true, but I just about all my visible hardware is black and don't see the aluminum look fitting in. I have just about all sps and a carpet nem with some lps out of direct light under ledges. My rock work is pretty much front to back.

If it were you, would you go with a 6 bulb or 8 bulb fixture? I'm thinking 8 and if the pars overkill, maybe adding 2 actinic bulbs to the mix? I believe they have lower par values, but help with coloration and overall health of stony corals, correct?


I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Funny u just switched from LEDs to t5 I am getting ready to add 2 24" t5 to supplement my radion. I think the 8 bulb is a good choice, of the fixture is dimable just run at lower setting to allow for acclamation time. Or run actinic like u mentioned, would like to see some pics w radion and t5.

I'll pull down the lights tomorrow. So I'll clean up the tank and take some picutres, although it probably wont be a fair comparison since I don't feel I ever truly found a great setting with them. Growth for sure, but just haven't got the color I've been looking for.

That's the main reason I'm swapping. To simplify everything. Plenty of good bulb combos to choose from out there. If that doesn't do the trick, well then something else needs to change with my husbandry!
