Help Picking Hardiest Dwarf Angel

A hardy centropyge-- well that's almost an oxymoron these days it seems. Once established, they can be QUITE hardy. But they're so prone to ammonia issues with new tank syndrome, they have high oxygen requirements, and they're very disease-prone. Coral beauty stand out as a more common and hardy dwarf angels. Flameback angels and most pygmy angels are even more hardy, in my experience. :)

Coral beauty is pretty easy to care for. Flame is a little tricky depending where and how there were collected.

I’ve had good luck with Flame angels as well. Coral Beauties, though the most common angel, can be very pretty and very hardy. The pygmies( Acanthops, Argi, Flavicauda) are probaly the hardiest, IMO

You say you don't like the look of Coral Beauties. There are a few different color variants that occasionally become available that you might prefer over the most common look. For instance, check out the Mauritius Tiger Tail Coral Beauty and the Deep Water Coral Beauty, both I've seen offered recently (in fact, NY Aquatic had a Tiger Tail in stock last I checked).

I have a Bi-Color angel that I actually got from Petco for $10. He had a wonky eye (looks like a bubble but is clear) so I got a discount. After QT and trying to treat the eye without success I put him in the DT. 2 years later he is the bully in a 210 fowler and his eye hasn't changed.
