I got a great deal on two Kessil A360x lights but am having trouble placing them on my 72 gallon bowfront since I don't have a sump and have two hob filters along with a hob skimmer. I set up one of the lights but don't have enough room for the second one. I was thinking about removing either one hob filter or the skimmer. Just don't know if one filter is enough.

It may not look the best but could you move one filter to the side of tank to free up space for the light mount ??

One on each side of the center brace

.

I kinda had that in mind. My tank has a canopy and I was thinking about mounting them on the lid. Just don't know if the lights will get too hot and start melting the canopy since it's kind of a hard plastic. There's is ventilation on the back as u can see in the pics. Do y'all think it would work?

Be very careful with that. It looks like that is a low profile canopy. Salt creep will get all over the lights an corrode them. Since you don't have room for a sump would a canister filter be an option? Smaller profile that just sits on the floor. I love the pvc frame idea too.

I was thinking about a canister filter as well. But heard they may cause more harm than good.

Can you not mount the lights on the side of the tank? when I was running hob I had to put my light on the right side of a cube tank, just due to all the hob stuff in the back.

I can but it won't look good. Plus still trying to use the canopy if possible.
